Zoom video conferencing now available on Apple TV 4K

The video conferencing program Zoom is now available on the Apple TV 4K set-top box. Since the set-top box itself does not have a camera, the application requires an Apple smartphone or tablet with the Continuity Camera feature, which allows you to use the mobile device’s camera as a media set-top box webcam.

The Continuity Camera feature is available on any iPhone or iPad model running iOS 17 and allows you to transfer images from the device’s camera to Apple TV. No special equipment is required for operation; All you need is a stand that holds the device in a vertical, stable position. Smart iOS features like Center Stage let you point the camera at video conference participants in the room.

The Zoom app for Apple TV, called Zoom for Home TV, is specifically designed for meetings using a set-top box and a TV and reportedly doesn’t have all the features available in the Zoom client for iPhone and iPad.

Zoom for Home TV app Compatible with Apple TV 4K 2nd or 3rd generation. It can be downloaded for free from the App Store. In order for Zoom to work, you must register.
