Xiaomi presented its first foldable smartphone with the Mix Fold last year. The device debuted in March last year and the company is already preparing a successor. Renowned tech blog Digital Chat Station claims the new product will feature enhanced displays and the current flagship platform, Qualcomm.
According to the source, both the internal and external screens of the Xiaomi Mix Fold will have a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The internal display retains the 2K resolution. It is reported that one of the most noticeable changes is affecting the external display. It will get an aspect ratio of 21: 9, like the Honor Magic V. The external display of the previous year’s model has an aspect ratio of 27: 9, which makes it too elongated and therefore not very comfortable to use. As for the hardware platform, the heart of the smartphone will be the current Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.
The exact launch date for the Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 is still unknown, but the device is expected to be launched in the current quarter. According to previous leaks, the smartphone’s internal screen will be covered with Samsung UTG glass for foldable displays.
