Xiaomi has launched the 12.4-inch Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro tablet in China. The device differs significantly from the Pad 5 Pro model presented by the manufacturer last year. The novelty is based on the Snapdragon 870 processor, received an LCD screen with support for a resolution of 2.5K and a refresh rate of 120, and is also equipped with a very large battery.
The Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro 12.4 tablet has seen many visual changes compared to last year’s 11-inch Mi Pad 5 Pro. For example, the company has reduced the thickness of the screen edges. The declared maximum brightness of the Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro 12.4 display is 500 cd/m2. The screen supports the DCI-P3 color space. It claims to support HDR10 and Dolby Vision technologies.
The 12.4-inch Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro is based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 chipset, which is also used in last year’s 11-inch model. The new model is offered in configurations with 6, 8 and 12 GB of RAM and 128, 256 and 512 GB of storage.
The device’s rear camera unit is similar to that of Xiaomi smartphones of the 12th series. It consists of three modules. The 50-megapixel main sensor is accompanied by two 2-megapixel depth sensors. The front camera is represented by a 20 megapixel sensor.
The system consisting of four loudspeakers and a pair of microphones is responsible for the sound of the new product. The device packs a 10,000mAh battery that supports 67W fast charging. According to the manufacturer, a full charge of the battery only takes 68 minutes. The device is running MIUI 13.
The novelty has already gone on sale in China. It is offered in black, silver and green case options. The configurations are as follows:
- 6GB + 128GB – 2799 yuan (about $415);
- 8GB + 256GB – 3299 yuan (about $490);
- 12GB + 512GB – 3999 yuan (about $593).
At the moment it is not known if Xiaomi plans to release the device in other markets.
