Xiaomi has announced the Redmi 13C 5G smartphone, which will expand the company’s range of available devices. The new product supports operation in fifth generation communication networks and also has a fairly advanced main camera and a somewhat unusual design on the back of the case.
The developers have equipped the device with a 6.74-inch IPS display that supports a resolution of 1600 × 720 pixels (corresponds to the HD+ format) and a refresh rate of 90 Hz. The display is protected from mechanical damage by Corning Gorilla Glass. The fingerprint scanner is integrated into the smartphone’s lock button, which is located on the side of the case.
There’s a waterdrop notch at the top of the screen that houses a 5-megapixel selfie camera that supports 1080p video recording at 30 frames per second. The device’s main camera combines a 50-megapixel sensor (f/1.8) and a 0.8-megapixel auxiliary sensor.
The Redmi 13C 5G received a MediaTek Dimensity 6100 Plus processor (two Cortex-A76 cores with a frequency of up to 2.2 GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores with a frequency of up to 2.0 GHz), made with a 6 nm process technology. The Mali-G57 MP2 accelerator is responsible for graphics processing. Buyers can choose between versions of the device with 4, 6 or 8 GB of RAM and 128 or 256 GB of storage. If necessary, the memory can be expanded using a microSD memory card.
The energy source was a 5000 mAh battery with support for charging with up to 18 W. A USB Type-C interface is available for connecting the charger. In this case, the smartphone comes with an adapter that enables 10W charging. The design offers a 3.5 mm jack for connecting a headset, and Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac and Bluetooth 5.3 adapters are responsible for the wireless connection.
The smartphone features Android 13 with the proprietary MIUI 14 interface. The device is available in retail in black, green and silver housing colors. You can buy the Redmi 13C 5G with 4GB RAM and 128GB ROM for $120, the 6GB RAM and 128GB ROM version costs $140 and for the 8GB RAM and 256GB ROM version you have to pay $160.
