In anticipation of the launch of the Xiaomi 11T and 11T Pro smartphones, extended support was announced for them. Xiaomi has promised that the upcoming new products will receive at least three major Android updates and four years of regular security updates.
This promise goes beyond the current support terms given to the company’s flagships. The current Mi 11 Ultra will only receive two Android updates, and security patches will be delivered every 90 days. Xiaomi 11T, in turn, will be updated to Android 14 inclusive. How often the device will receive security updates, the company did not say.
Unfortunately, Xiaomi has not yet announced whether the expansion of software support will affect the company’s previously presented products. However, it has been stated that Xiaomi will appreciate the possibility of expanding support for existing smartphones.
Recall that Xiaomi 11T Pro, according to leaks, will receive a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset, 8 GB of RAM and a storage capacity of up to 256 GB. The novelty is expected to be unveiled on September 15th as part of the company’s special event.
