Xbox Senior Director of Corporate Communications Larry Hryb on his microblog commented The recent rumors about the addition of a shooter with horror elements Resident Evil Village to the Game Pass library.
Recall that XGP.pl journalists recently noticed that for a short time (less than half an hour) the Resident Evil Village page in the Polish Microsoft Store displayed the notice “Included in Game Pass”.
In response to a post by Wccftech on the matter, Hryb explained that what happened was the result of a discount display bug in the Microsoft Store: “There are currently no plans to include Resident Evil Village in Game Pass”.
However, plans are subject to change. For example, in December 2019, Remedy Entertainment and 505 Games Control didn’t want to include it in the Game Pass library, but a year later they changed their minds.
Resident Evil Village debuted in May 2021 on PC (Steam), PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S, and Google Stadia. Total sales of the game have since surpassed 5.7 million copies.
