Xbox controller bar for quick access to games now available in Windows 11 previews

Microsoft announced about the start of the test of the Xbox Controller Bar feature, which is a logical continuation of the Xbox Game Bar. At this stage, this tool is available to members of the Windows Insider Program using recent test builds of Windows 11 on the Dev and Beta channels.

The new panel provides easy and convenient access to games and related content through the Xbox controller. The Xbox Controller Bar launches automatically when you pair your controller with a computer running the latest beta versions of Windows 11. The bar displays shortcuts for launching games that the user has recently interacted with, as well as helpful widgets.

You can access the panel at any time by pressing the Xbox button on your paired controller. Pressing the Xbox button during a game brings up a panel of familiar widgets. You can also launch the Xbox controller bar by pressing the Win + G keyboard shortcut.

The Xbox Controller Bar is reportedly available to Microsoft Insider Program members using test builds of Windows 11 version 225xx and later. You must also sign up for the Windows Gaming Preview trial program in the Xbox Insider Hub app.
