Windows 11 has a new power saving feature for laptops and desktops, but it is still in testing mode

Microsoft is testing a new power saving feature as part of the test build of Windows 11 Canary version 26002. The new energy saving mode is designed for this “expand and improve” Energy saving settings are already included in the operating system. The new feature doesn’t just apply to laptops, as is the case with battery settings, but also works with desktop computers.

Not only is the new Power Saver mode available on both desktop devices and laptops (even when they’re plugged in), but it works almost the same as Battery Saver mode. This feature helps save energy “Part of the system performance is sacrificed”. In other words, in the case of games, its use may be undesirable.

You can enable the new power saving feature from the quick settings menu or from System -> Power -> Power Saving. The feature can be configured to automatically turn off when the same laptop’s battery level reaches a certain percentage of refill.

We would like to remind you that all builds of Windows 11 initially also have power saving settings. In addition, the system’s power consumption can be optimized by selecting one of several power management plans (Balanced, Energy Saving, High Performance, Maximum Performance).
