WhatsApp has the ability to block calls from unknown subscribers, but not everyone has it yet

According to the WABetaInfo portal, a new function has appeared in WhatsApp Messenger. We are talking about the ability to completely block calls from unknown numbers, which allows users to protect themselves from intruders.

According to the portal, the function has become available for users of the beta version of the IM client, which can be evaluated by some participants of the beta testing program with devices running the Android operating system. According to WABetaInfo, it will be available to other users literally in the coming days.

Information about the development of a feature that will allow filtering voice traffic in Messenger appeared in early March. But then, except for a few screenshots, there were no details, and even for participants in the beta testing program there was no access to users. Now testers have a chance to really evaluate the feature. It allows you to automatically block scammers who have recently mastered WhatsApp posing as representatives of banks and law enforcement agencies, as well as intrusive interlocutors with whom you do not want to communicate. In this case, information about missed calls is stored in the call log and the caller can be called back or write a message if desired.

The function can be activated in the “Privacy” tab. It is worth noting that information about his appearance for the iOS version of the messenger has not yet arrived.
