WhatsApp has introduced a self-destruct feature for voice messages

WhatsApp has officially announced the launch of the voice message self-destruct feature. This feature, called “View Once,” is already available for photos and videos in 2021 and now also extends to audio messages. This innovation is intended to increase the confidentiality of communication in the popular messenger.

Although there is some confusion over the Watch Once title for the audio format, this significant update provides an additional layer of privacy. WhatsApp recommends using the new function for situations that require increased privacy, such as when transmitting sensitive information.

According to the resource WABetaInfo, known for its analysis of WhatsApp updates, the feature will be gradually introduced into the application on the iOS and Android platforms. The update is expected to be available in the coming days. To activate the feature, users can select the “View once” option when recording a voice message by clicking the “1” icon next to the visual display of the message.
