In a speech on Blizzard’s website, Keller acknowledged that there is a flood of negative reviews on Steam “bad experience”However, the joy of watching Overwatch 2 meet new faces outweighs the negativity: “Our goal was to make the game accessible to more people than ever before.”.
At the same time, Keller understands that many players who left a negative review of Overwatch 2 on Steam are unhappy with the abolition of the large-scale PvE mode for which the game was launched. “I see. This announcement was about an ambitious project that we ultimately could not realize.”the developer admitted.
More than 60,000 negative reviews of Overwatch 2 on Steam have been left by Chinese players who are unhappy with Blizzard’s departure from the country, among other things
“If we can’t turn back time, what can we do?” asks Keller. Answer: Add new content (maps, heroes, modes, missions, stories, events, cosmetics, features) and improve Overwatch 2 in it “an ever expanding, evolving and improving game”.
Overwatch 2 is available for PC (Battle.net, Steam), PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S, and Nintendo Switch. With the launch of the Invasion Season (which coincided with the Steam release), the project was released from Early Access, which began in October 2022, and became “full” service game.
