Vivo introduces $200 iQOO Z8 and Z8x smartphones with Dimensity 8200 and Snapdragon 6 Gen1

Vivo’s own brand iQOO today officially launched two new mobile phones iQOO Z8 and iQOO Z8x. Both devices are ready to offer customers decent performance at competitive prices.

The iQOO Z8 is based on the MediaTek Dimensity 8200 chipset paired with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 flash storage. The chipset is equipped with a heat distribution plate with an area of ​​3002 mm², which prevents the processor from overheating. The smartphone is 8.75 mm thick and weighs 201.5 g.

iQOO Z8 is equipped with a 6.64-inch LCD screen with a resolution of 2388 × 1080 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The touch screen sampling rate is 240 Hz. Typical display brightness – 480 cd/m²2and peak – 500 cd/m2. According to the manufacturer, the display is HDR-10 certified.

The rear camera setup includes a 64 MP main module with optical image stabilization and a 2 MP depth-of-field camera. The front camera has a resolution of 16 megapixels. The phone packs a 5000mAh battery that can be charged up to 50% in 10 minutes with 120W fast charge. The smartphone is capable of providing 7.5W reverse charging.

iQOO Z8 offers fingerprint recognition, is equipped with stereo speakers, a 3.5mm headphone jack and supports the NFC wireless standard. A smartphone can be used as an infrared remote control. iQOO Z8 runs on OriginOS 3 based on Android 13.

iQOO Z8x is similar in design to its “big brother” but based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen1 chipset. The device is equipped with a 6000 mAh battery. A 44W fast charger is included. The smartphone is 9.1 mm thick and weighs 199.6 g.

The Z8x’s display is similar to that of the Z8. The front camera has a resolution of 8 megapixels, the rear camera unit includes a main camera with a resolution of 50 megapixels and a 2-megapixel depth-of-field camera.

Pricing for the iQOO Z8 starts at $218 for the version with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage and goes up to $274 for the smartphone with 12GB RAM and 512GB storage. iQOO Z8x is cheaper – from $164 to $205, but the minimum and maximum versions have smaller drives of 128 and 256 GB, respectively.
