As promised, on September 7, publisher 2K and development studio Firaxis Games staged a new gameplay presentation for their tactical RPG Marvel’s Midnight Suns.
Recall that the gameplay of Marvel’s Midnight Suns is divided into two halves: exploring the Abbey (user base) from a third-person perspective and participating in tactical battles from an isometric perspective.
As part of the broadcast, the developers demonstrated the basics of the combat system (it is tied to skill cards), as well as what users can do on the territory of the Abbey.
Particular attention was paid to the presentation of the battle between the Hunter and Wolverine against Sabretooth. On the side of the latter are the ability to regenerate, animal instincts and the strength of a fearsome predator.
Wolverine, on the other hand, possesses the trademark claws, the ability to restore health and taunt enemies, while the Hunter can perform several roles on the battlefield at once: inflicting / mitigating damage, supporting allies and controlling opponents.
Marvel’s Midnight Suns will take on the role of the Hunter (the first customizable character in the Marvel Universe) to pair up with the Midnight Suns to fight off the mother of demons Lilith. In total, the game promises 12 superheroes, not counting the Hunter.
The release of Marvel’s Midnight Suns is expected in March 2022 on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S, and Nintendo Switch. The first gameplay demo took place shortly after the announcement.
