Saber Interactive and Focus Entertainment have released a trailer for World War Z: Aftermath, an enhanced version of the co-op zombie shooter. The developers spoke in detail about the innovations that are being implemented in the project.
The upcoming edition will be replenished with two maps – Rome and Kamchatka. The first location will be marked by the Colosseum and narrow Italian streets, and the second – by snow-covered expanses, a cruise liner and a nuclear submarine stuck in the ice. In Aftermath, users will be able to activate the first person mode and try out the new melee system. Characters will receive unique abilities for finishing off zombies and access to separate categories of melee and blunt weapons.
A new class will also appear in the game – the defender, who will be able to make a quick breakthrough through a crowd of zombies thanks to the use of an electric shield. The species diversity of enemies will be diluted with clusters of rats, and to motivate users to stay longer in Aftermath, the shooter will be equipped with daily challenges with difficulty modifiers. The latter will directly affect the value of the awards.
World War Z: Aftermath will be released on September 21, 2021 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Series S.
