It is worth noting that the CS:GO Twitter account has changed its banner more than once (once even five times a day), but today’s change seems to be the most significant.
While the previous versions of the CS:GO Twitter profile header were variations on the old logo, the new one features slantier CS letters with a counter-terrorist in the center and on an unusual blue background.
The situation is notable in that the CS:GO Twitter account is changing its profile headers amid growing rumors of CS:GO porting to the Source 2 engine, for which a number of circumstantial evidence have surfaced in recent weeks.
It is believed that the engine change will affect not so much the appearance of CS:GO as the ease of creating content for it. At the same time, following Valve’s recent registration of new brands for the series, we can talk about a rebrand.
One of the potential options for a new name by fans is simply called Counter-Strike (without the Global Offensive subtitle). With this in mind, the new CS:GO Twitter profile header could reflect the logo of an already updated game.
Before the full release of CS:GO on Source 2, it will most likely go through a closed or open beta testing period. The start of testing and the official announcement are expected soon (the period up to April 1 was previously reported).
