Upcoming flagship Intel Core i9-12900KS tested in Cinebench R23 – up to 30% faster than Ryzen 9 5950X

The other day we wrote that the flagship processor Intel Core i9-12900KS was shipped to the first customers before the official release. Some of the new owners decided to do the first tests of the chip. They showed that the new product is up to 30% faster than the competitor’s flagship Ryzen 9 5950X.

Tests in Cinebench R23 confirmed that the Intel processor is capable of automatically overclocking to a frequency of 5.5 GHz on two high-performance cores or up to 5.2 GHz on all eight. Energy-efficient cores, on the other hand, operate at frequencies up to 4.0 GHz.

The CPU-Z utility data shows that the chip has a base TDP (PBP or PL1) increased to 150W. That’s 25W more than the Core i9-12900K. The AVX-512 instruction set is not listed among the supported processor instructions.

In a single-core test Cinebench R23 model The Core i9-12900KS scored 2,162 and the multi-core score 29,164.

The portal provided comparative results in the same tests of the flagship processor Ryzen 9 5950X Tom’s hardware. Cinebench R23 returned a single-core score of 1,668 and a multi-core score of 26,715.

The Core i9-12900KS is 29.6% faster than a competitor in a single-core test without overclocking, and 9.7% in a multi-core test.
