Unity has introduced two new AI-based products, the Sentis and Muse platforms, designed to enhance the real-time 3D content creation (RT3D) experience. Both products are currently in closed beta and will be launched globally within a year. Additionally, Unity announced the launch of a dedicated AI marketplace in the Asset Store that offers additional tools.
Unity is a platform for creating and running games and interactive 3D and 2D applications. It offers developers a set of built-in tools to create interactive content, including gaming and virtual reality. The new products, Sentis and Muse, are advanced AI-based tools that help improve the real-time 3D content creation experience.
Sentis is a cross-platform solution for performing AI model inference in Unity projects. It allows embedding artificial intelligence models without high latency, thus ensuring smooth execution of algorithms. This greatly simplifies the process of integrating AI into game projects and improves the user experience. Muse is a suite of tools for creating immersive virtual and augmented realities. They offer ease of use and flexibility, allowing developers and artists to create unique visual and audio effects, interactive scenarios and interactions. Muse supports a wide range of virtual and augmented reality devices, opening up the possibilities to create amazing VR and AR applications for a variety of uses including entertainment, education and marketing.
One such tool currently is Unity Muse Chat, which allows users to find information and answers to technical support questions in the documentation by typing a request into a chat box.
Marc Whitten, SVP of Unity Create Solutions told GamesBeat about the new products:Our vision for AI has two main benefits. The first is accessibility. Can we make it easier for people to access the tools and technology they need to make games? The second aspect is related to performance. Can pros make great games faster and better, and do whatever they can to cover the incredible amount of content gamers demand?»
The new AI Marketplace also offers other tools to help you create games and resources. These include Leonardo AI for rapid game resource creation, Convai for AI-based character creation, and Zibra AI for visual effects and physics.
Whitten added:It’s important to us to give developers access to a variety of tools so they can test and decide what works for them. From generative AI tools that accelerate resource development, to machine learning and AI solutions that improve workflows, to behavioral AI tools to improve behavior in game worlds, from pathfinding and enemy logic to NPC responsiveness“.
These innovations underscore Unity’s commitment to accessibility and productivity in game and 3D content development. They offer new opportunities for developers from different backgrounds and enable them to develop better games faster and more efficiently. Collectively, these new Unity products and initiatives underscore the importance of AI in today’s game and 3D content development, opening new horizons for game developers around the world.
