Games Industry Portal shared information on UK retail sales of games from 5 to 11 September 2021. The reporting period was marked by several notable novelties at once.
The best-selling game of the past week was WarioWare: Get It Together! for Nintendo Switch. However, in terms of the number of sold copies, the exclusive was inferior even to the Miitopia, which debuted in May.
The Japanese RPG Tales of Arise is in second place on the new chart, with a slight lag. The project surpassed the starting performance of Scarlet Nexus (another development by Bandai Namco), which reached the 8th line in June, by more than two times.
In terms of platform distribution, Tales of Arise was the most popular on PS5 (58%). Another 28% of the copies sold were on PS4, 13% on Xbox Series X and S, and the remaining 1% on PC.
NBA 2K22 came third to the finish line. In retail, the new basketball simulator 2K and Visual Concepts started almost twice as bad as the previous part, but in digital format, the situation may change.
Another fresh release that made its way into the top 10 was Life is Strange: True Colors – 6th place. The PS5 version performed best (54%). Then comes PS4 (28%) and Xbox Series X with S (18%).
Finally, the less successful debutants of the week were Bus Simulator 21 (17th), Big Rumble Boxing: Creed Champions (29th) and Game Builder Garage (40th).
