Portal Games Industry back after a week break shared information on the sale of retail editions of games in the UK. From March 13th to 19th, Gran Turismo 7 was unrivaled in the region.

The racing sim from Sony Interactive Entertainment and Polyphony Digital topped the UK retail charts for the third year in a row, despite a 42% drop in sales.
Fantasy open-world action role-playing game Elden Ring (-25% of copies sold compared to the previous week) climbed to second place, overtaking wrestling simulator WWE 2K22 (-44%).

Thanks to discounts on essential Nintendo Switch games, Pokemon Brilliant Diamond (+564%) moved up to fifth, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury (+288%) to sixth, and Pokemon Shining Pearl to ninth.
Also, Metroid Dread returned to the charts after a long absence (#14). The action-platformer from Nintendo and MercurySteam has become the third best-selling franchise in franchise history (not counting the digital segment).

In new releases, Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin started at #8 (73% on PS5), while Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach peaked at #10 (70% on PS4).
