It has been revealed that another six months after the news of the return to early production, the Ubisoft Montreal team (developers of the original The Sands of Time) has achieved some success.
According to Ubisoft, Ubisoft Montreal is still excited about reimagining the legendary story, and the game has been on a bit of a tear lately “An important inner stage”. “Development is progressing”says the editor.
The reason for the delays and the transfer of the remake to another team (initially it was entrusted to the Indian studios Ubisoft Pune and Mumbai) was mass criticism of the visual component, problems with which the creators initially denied.
Ubisoft Montreal promised to use the developments of its predecessors, but ultimately started production almost from scratch. The studio wants to offer players something “The best remake of a timeless classic when it’s finished”.
A remake of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time was once developed for PC (Ubisoft Connect, Epic Games Store), PS4 and Xbox One. The project’s current target platforms and the timing of its release are unknown.
