Official account for developers informed: “Twitter enforces established rules [доступа к] API. Because of this, some applications may not work.”. The message confirmed that the termination of third-party applications was caused intentionally, but otherwise the situation was almost not clarified – the company did not clarify the rules that led to the ban. It remains unknown whether the company management is actually pursuing other goals.

Earlier, in an interview with The Information journalists, one of Twitter’s technical heads confirmed that the intention was to block third-party customers, but he also did not disclose the real reasons for these measures.
In the comments to the message of the administration of the service, users suggested that third-party clients do not show ads, which are now crucial for maintaining the work of the social network – the new owner and head of the platform, Elon Musk, saves on everything and searches actively looking for new sources of income.
