Twitter has started testing a new feature that will let you change the video playback speed. This option is visible to some users of the web version of the service, as well as in the application for Android.

Users participating in testing the feature will have a gear icon in the top right corner of the video player. If you click it, you can choose the video playback speed. Information has been confirmed by the official Twitter support account: The video speed can be changed from 25% to 200% of the original speed in 25% increments.

Service worker Joseph Nuñez indicated that the change will affect all videos posted on the platform, as well as voice tweets and videos in private messages. So far, testing has been limited to a few users of the web version and the Android app, but iPhone owners will also join their number in the future.
Recall that one of the platform’s researchers announced Twitter’s intention to add the ability to change the speed of videos back in September, when the service’s administration announced that the quality of the posted videos had improved, since the platform has removed the stage of pre-processing of records.
