Long-standing on the market for tracker key fobs for finding things, Tile has renewed its range with improved features and designs – Sticker, Mate, Slim and Pro. In addition, a completely new Ultra product was announced, which, like Apple’s AirTag, uses a UWB chip for precise location determination.
The compact Tile Sticker beacon, the first version of which appeared back in 2019, in the updated version will still be very small, but it will receive a search radius increased by 67% to 76 meters, as well as a louder sound signal. The model, as before, can be glued to any clean, flat surface, it complies with the IP67 water protection class, the non-removable battery can work up to three years. A pair of Tile Stickers will cost $ 55, and a pack of four will cost $ 98.
Ideal for wearing with chains and laces, the Tile Mate will have a similar range, louder beep and QR code allowing you to leave contact information in the event your lost device is found. In this novelty, it was also decided to replace the removable battery with a non-removable version with a life of up to three years. IP67 is still supported, black and white modules are available for $ 25, a pair for $ 48 and a pack of four for $ 70.
The bank card-like Tile Slim models, suitable for wallets and flat surfaces, have become louder, the range has increased to 76 meters, a QR code has been added to contact the owner, and, for the first time, the IP67 standard is supported. The battery lasts up to three years. One copy costs $ 35, two – $ 60.
Tile Pro has undergone the greatest changes – now it looks more like a keychain, rather than a small tile. The model can be found up to 122 meters away. The battery lasts only a year, but you can replace it yourself. Available in white and black, one for $ 35, two for $ 60, and four for $ 100.
The Tile 2022 series is available now on the manufacturer’s website. The company also promises to present the Tile Ultra next year, equipped with a UWB chip that allows you to pinpoint the location of the key fob using an AR smartphone app. Ultra will compete with the Samsung Galaxy SmartTag + and Apple AirTags, which have been using UWB technology for quite some time. According to the manufacturer, the company is working with Google to optimize the work of new items with Android 12, although Tile Ultra will be compatible with iOS. Prices are not yet known.
Tile says that increased competition has only led to an increase in interest in the company’s products – in the first half of the year, sales grew by 50% compared to 2020.
