Ilya Brown, Vice President of Product Management, Katrina Lane, Vice President of Services, and Max Schmeiser, Head of Data Processing, are leaving Twitter. According to internal documentation, all three independently made the decision to step down. The departure of the top manager was confirmed by a Twitter spokeswoman.

Less than a week ago, CEO Parag Agrawal announced a reshuffle and the resignation of two more executives with no layoffs planned: a budget cut and a moratorium on hiring new staff. However, Mr. Agrawal informed his subordinates about it “Leaders will continue to make changes to their organizations as needed to improve efficiency”.

Twitter officials remain in limbo as Musk’s takeover bid looks set to close. The situation is complicated by the billionaire’s provocative tweets and public comments: most recently, he criticized the social network’s management, suggesting that the company misleads the public about the number of bots and spam accounts on the platform. Until that information was verified, the deal was on hold. This caused Twitter shares to fall sharply – investors are no longer sure the deal will go through.
