Last week, Apple released the watchOS 8.5 software platform update, which became available to users of compatible smartwatch models from the company. Now it has been announced that the update not only brings fixes and improvements, but also breaks the fast charging function in the Apple Watch Series 7.

One of the features of the Apple Watch Series 7 smartwatch is support for fast charging, which allows you to charge the battery from 0 to 80% in 45 minutes. Despite the support for fast charging, the smartwatch does not come with a charger that can speed up the charging process, and users have to buy it separately. Owners of such chargers found that after a recent software update, the fast charging feature in the Apple Watch Series 7 simply disappeared.
Apple Smartwatch fast charging issues have been reported on the company’s support forums, as well as on Reddit and other communities. Initially, it was assumed that the problem only affected users of Belkin Boost Charge Pro chargers, but later it turned out that after installing watchOS 8.5, the lack of fast charging was observed, regardless of which power supply was used.
At this time, Apple has not yet confirmed the issue, but the number of user complaints continues to mount. Official representatives of the company refrain from commenting on this issue.
