The Chinese company Vivo has expanded its range of mid-range smartphones and announced the Y21G model based on the MediaTek hardware platform. The device ships with Funtouch OS 11.1 based on Android 11, but an upgrade to Android 12 is likely to be available in the future.
The smartphone uses a Helio G70 processor. The chip combines eight cores with a clock rate of up to 2.0 GHz and an Arm Mali-G52 2EEMC2 graphics accelerator. There’s 4GB of RAM, a 64GB flash drive and a microSD card slot.
The device received a 6.51-inch HD+ display with a resolution of 1600 × 720 pixels. There is an 8-megapixel camera on the front, and a dual camera with 13 and 2 million pixel sensors on the back.
The equipment includes 2.4/5 GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0 wireless adapters, a USB Type-C port and a 5000 mAh battery. The smartphone is enclosed in a body with dimensions of 164.26 × 76.08 × 8.0mm and weighs 182g. Midnight Blue and Diamond Glow colors are available. The price is around €170.
