Recent Wi-Fi Alliance certification has revealed that a new version of the Fairphone modular smartphone is being prepared for release. Now, renders and key specifications of the model, dubbed the Fairphone 4 5G, have appeared on the web.
The information was found on one of the Swiss product comparison sites – now you can get an idea not only about the characteristics, but also about the appearance and even the colors of the device cases. In particular, it is known that there will be dark gray and green versions.
It turned out that the smartphone has a rather wide bezel at the bottom of the screen, and on top there is a teardrop-shaped notch for a selfie camera. On the back there is a block with a triple chamber in the form of a deformed triangle. Notably, there is no rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.
Some characteristics have also been published. So, Fairphone 4 5G should receive a 6.3-inch display, the resolution of which is still unknown. The smartphone is equipped with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of ROM, there is also a more expensive model with 256 GB. Finally, the camera module includes a 48MP main sensor, possibly the same one used in the Fairphone 3 Plus.
Fairphone stands out not only for its high maintainability, but also for its special approach to the production process, which provides for strict observance of workers’ rights and refusal to use minerals mined and sold in zones of military conflicts.
At the same time, smartphones are quite expensive. It is indicated that the 128 GB version of Fairphone 4 5G will cost about 694 dollars, while the previous version of Fairphone 3 Plus without 5G support cost about $ 555. It is not yet known when and where the release of the new model will take place. Previous versions were primarily aimed at the European market.
