Forum users Reddit Under the alias CheckingIsMyPriority, I saw evidence of a reduction in the number of planned story additions to Cyberpunk 2077 in a recent CD Projekt financial report.
Recall that prior to Cyberpunk 2077’s release, CD Projekt RED said the game would receive at least two story DLCs, but in the studio’s post-release rhetoric, the forthcoming first add-on was the only one – nothing became belongs to the others.
As noted by CheckingIsMyPriority, CD Projekt CEO Adam Kicinski said in a conversation with investors that the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 expansion will be the studio’s final project on the RED Engine.
After this add-on, the studio will switch to working with Unreal Engine 5, which will be used in the next game in The Witcher series and other projects. It’s likely that the second major DLC for Cyberpunk 2077 is no longer in CD Projekt RED’s plans.
The release of the first, and possibly only, plot supplement to Cyberpunk 2077 is expected in 2023. The developers are in no hurry to share the details, but some details have already been fished out from the published files with dialogues from the DLC.
