Head of Instagram Adam Mosseri said this feature can be accessed in the Settings menu through the new “Delete or Deactivate Profile” section. This feature is currently in the distribution phase and therefore may not be available to all users of the social network.

The ability to delete a Threads profile comes in response to complaints from users who were unhappy with the option to delete the associated Instagram account at the same time.. Mosseri previously said that developers are looking for a way to implement the feature of separately deleting a Threads profile without an Instagram account and it looks like they’ve succeeded. Additionally, if users don’t want to permanently delete their Threads profile, they can deactivate it.

Additionally, Mosseri announced the availability of an option to disable auto-publishing of threaded posts in Meta-Owned social networks Facebook and Instagram. The integration of this feature began a few days ago and may not be available to all users at this time. It is also known that Meta is working on adding more features to Threads, including the ability to add hashtags and send private messages.
