The Threads microblogging service now has tags for messages

Tags appeared on the microblogging platform Threads, said the Instagram boss. Platform leader Adam Mosseri. The feature works a little differently than the usual hashtags on platforms like Instagram and X (formerly Twitter).

When composing a message in threads, you can mark it with the “#” symbol and then enter the subject keyword. Unlike other platforms, in threads you can write not just a word after the “#” sign, but an entire phrase including spaces. And everything is highlighted in a label. According to Mosseri, special characters can also be added to the tag. However, you can only set one label per message.

The job of tags is the same as that of hashtags.

“When you share a post in threads, tags are a great way to connect with people who are interested in the topics you’re talking about. It’s also a great way for everyone to delve deeper into their interests.”explained Mosseri.

It was previously reported that Threads has overtaken X in terms of app downloads on iOS and Android.
