portal PlayStation universe noticed that screenwriter job at the Ubisoft Toronto team gives a hint about the plot changes in the upcoming remake of the cult stealth action game Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell.
Judging by the job description, this is what the Ubisoft Toronto team intends to do “Rewrite and update history [Splinter Cell] for modern audience”while maintaining “The spirit and themes of the original game”.
The developers are also promising to shape the characters and world in Splinter Cell Remake “more authentic and credible”and the story is “consistent and convincing”.
It was previously reported that the reinterpretation of the first Splinter Cell will be based on the Snowdrop engine (Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora) and will feature a familiar linear structure alongside updated graphics.
The previously untitled Splinter Cell remake was confirmed in December 2021 and was in the early stages of development at the time. With this project, Ubisoft Toronto wants to lay the foundation for the future of the entire series.
