According to Bloomberg analyst Mark Gurman, Apple is planning an event in March or April to celebrate the presentation of the new smartphone model iPhone SE with 5G support.
“Apple is preparing for its first virtual event in 2022. I was told (sources) that Apple’s first virtual event in 2022 will be in a few months and will likely be in either March or April. – said the analyst in the latest edition of his Power On newsletter.
The Feinschmecker suggests that the main focus of the event will be on the new version of the iPhone SE. As a reminder, the existing iPhone SE (2020) model was introduced by Apple at the start of the Covid-19 pandemic in April 2020.
Like TF Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Gourmet believes the new iPhone SE will be similar to the current iPhone SE (2020) smartphone, which is based on the iPhone 8. The inside of the device is improved, including the new chip and 5G connectivity.
The company is also preparing to launch the next line of Apple Macs, including the new Mac Pro and MacBook Air, but it’s not yet known whether the new items will be showcased at the spring event.
The foodie also speculates that Apple’s second event this year will be the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June 2022. There the company is expected to introduce iOS 16 (Sydney), tvOS 16 (Paris), macOS 13 (Rome) and watchOS 9 (Kincaid), although nothing is known about which new functions these software updates will receive.
Contrary to the expectations of some experts, Gourmet found that “The 2022 global developer conference will almost certainly be virtual for the third year in a row.”
