Czech portal Vortex with a link to their informants informedthat on the night of September 7th, a fire broke out in the Prague office of GSC Game World (STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl).

According to data from site According to the Prague Crisis Management Department, the fire broke out on the sixth floor of the house 310/60 on Na Pankráci Street. There, acc Google Mapsand the GSC Game World office is located.
The blaze raged for about an hour. There were no casualties. The figures for the number of evacuees vary – the anti-crisis department has 30 people and the website Pozary — 20. The damage is estimated at 1.5 million Czech crowns (about $66,000).

According to two independent Vortex sources, the fire was caused by an electrical fault and affected one of the GSC Game World team’s three floors in the building.
The Vortex editorial team has a photo from the scene of the accident showing that the fire destroyed the office equipment and interior. It is believed that this floor housed the most important equipment – redundant servers.
How much the incident will affect the development of STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl, and if it will have any impact at all, is unclear at this time. Vortex will try to get more details about what happened.
Due to the recent postponement, STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl is expected to release in Q1 2024 on PC (Steam, GOG, EGS, Microsoft Store), Xbox Series X and S, and Game Pass (PC and Xbox).
