Embracer Group and Iron Gate have announced that Valheim will be coming to Xbox Series X and S on March 14th. At the same time, the developers have released a new survival-adventure trailer for the console with a demonstration of the user interface. The game is available now for PC via Steam (Early Access) and the Microsoft Store, and is also part of the PC Game Pass library with crossplay support.

Valheim swept across Steam immediately upon release in February 2021. In the first three weeks alone, more than 4 million copies of the game were sold, and by July it was about 7 million copies. Iron Gate Studios continues to develop the project: in November, the studio announced work on a new expansion (Ashlands), but it is still in the pre-production phase. For April 2022 sales by Valheim numbered 10 million copies.
