The Pixel Watch 2 gets a Snapdragon chip and can work for two days without charging

According to 9to5Google sources, the Pixel Watch 2 will feature the latest generation Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 chip. It is not yet clear what type of chip it is. The Snapdragon W5+ Gen 1 processor announced with the Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 has only recently found its way into the first Wear OS smartwatch, the TicWatch Pro 5. And the Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 processor has so far mainly been used by Chinese wearable device manufacturers. On this platform, for example, Oppo presented the smartwatches Oppo Watch 3 and Watch 3 Pro last year.

Switching to the Snapdragon W5 will significantly improve the battery life of an Apple wearable. If the Pixel Watch can last 24 hours on a single charge with the Always On Display off, the battery life of the Pixel Watch 2 is two days.

The Pixel Watch 2 is also said to have the same health sensors as the Fitbit Sense 2 smartwatch, including a continuous electrodermal activity (cEDA) sensor that monitors stress levels throughout the day and a skin temperature measurement sensor.

The Pixel Watch 2 is expected to be released in the fall and will be one of the first Wear OS 4 devices.
