May is not only the time of thunderstorms and wild cherry blossoms, but also the time of financial reports from gambling companies. The new documents revealed information about the current success and future of Japanese studio FromSoftware’s fantasy open-world role-playing game Elden Ring.

Remember that by the first anniversary of Elden Ring in February 2023, total shipments and digital sales of the game reached 20 million copies worldwide. As became known Bandai Namco financial report (the publisher of the project), the number reached 20.5 million units by the end of March.
Announced in late February, Shadow of the Erdtree add-on, conceived by Japanese holding company Kadokawa Corporation (owner of FromSoftware), aims to help improve the Elden Ring as a franchise. The company’s goal is to extend the lifespan of the game in order to maximize profits.

Out of Financial Report of Kadokawa It was also announced that the company is classifying Shadow of the Erdtree in the mid- and long-term plans section. For the current fiscal year, that is, until April 2024, the holding announced only Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon (also from FromSoftware), new Spike Chunsoft games and mobile entertainment.
As noted by the portal Gaming BoltAll this means with a high probability that waiting for the release of Shadow of the Erdtree before April 2024 is not worth it. The add-on has been built for all Elden Ring target platforms – PC (Steam), PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S since at least April 2022.
