South Korean portal rule web reports that at G-STAR 2022, Japanese studio Team Ninja confirmed plans to return to two of its legendary franchises – slasher Ninja Gaiden and fighting games Dead or Alive.
Keep in mind that the developers have been talking about wanting to get back into Ninja Gaiden for several years in a row (and even considered the option with a third-party studio), but until recently they had nothing to announce.
According to Ruliweb, when presenting Team Ninja at G-STAR 2022, they showed a slide with images of Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive and the caption: “The future of Team Ninja is a reboot of popular series”.
Judging by the severity of the announcement, don’t count on an early release: Team Ninja President Fumihiko Yasuda added during G-STAR 2022 that he will try to expedite the news about the mentioned reboots.
The last Ninja Gaiden numbered was Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge in 2012 (the Master Collection came out in 2021), and Dead or Alive hasn’t seen any new releases since 2019, when Dead or Alive 6 debuted.
