The head of the studio Hidetaka Miyazaki confirmed in autumn 2016 that FromSoftware was working on the next Armored Core, but until recently there was no news about the game.

According to Red Liquorice, in addition to the survey, there was a description of the new Armored Core, eight screenshots and two half-minute gameplay videos – with a boss and the exploration of a snowy place.

Red Liquorice adds that the combat system and interaction with other players in the new Armored Core reminded him of the action games from the Souls franchise (Dark Souls, Bloodborne, Elden Ring) that FromSoftware has expanded in recent years.

Armored Core V – the newest numbered installment – came out in March 2012, while the last release within the franchise (Verdict Day) was from 2013. The next Armored Core is slated to be announced shortly after Elden Ring is released.
