Co-founder of the French studio Motion Twin and former Dead Cells designer Sébastien Benard harshly criticized his former team’s decision to stop content support for the game.
Let us remind you that recently Motion Twin and the Evil Empire studio it founded in 2019 to support Dead Cells announced that The End is Near update will be the last for the game.
“After five incredible years of collaborating to bring additional content to Dead Cells, the Evil Empire team will be heading off to new adventures.”reads a recent statement from Motion Twin.
By opinion Benard, Motion Twin committed against Dead Cells and Evil Empire “the most disgusting act imaginable”and the official statement about the situation is “complete marketing nonsense”.
“I saw the situation from the inside with my own eyes and, hand on heart, I can say: I’m glad that I’m no longer involved in this… I never thought that my former studio would turn out to be a bunch of such greedy people”complained Benard.
Benard helped found Motion Twin in 2001 and after 19 years (including at the helm of Dead Cells), he left to start a new studio, Deepnight Games (Nuclear Blaze).
