Strategy Analytics has published the results of a study on the global market for mobile processors with ARM architecture. Shipments of chips for smartphones, tablets and laptops with different designs are taken into account.

The industry’s money supply is reported to have grown by more than a quarter over the past year – by 27%. As a result, total supplier sales reached $35.1 billion.
The market leader is Qualcomm with a share of around 34% in total sales. Apple is second with 31% and MediaTek closes the top 3 with 24%. As a result, the three companies mentioned together financially controlled about 90% of the global market for mobile arm processors in 2021.

If we look at the industry by different device types, then 87.7% of revenue from sales of ARM architecture mobile chips comes from smartphones. The contribution of tablets was about 8.5%, laptops – 3.8%.
It notes that Arm processors overtook x86 chips by nearly 20% in terms of sales in the mobile market in 2021 (excluding chipsets and discrete graphics accelerators).
