Publisher Bandai Namco and developer of the Japanese studio FromSoftware uncovered the purpose of the sealed battle arenas found by dataminers in the fantasy open-world role-playing game Elden Ring.
As has been revealed, with the release of the Colosseum update, the Colosseums in the Graveyard, Starry Wastes and Leindell regions, which have been locked since release, will open their doors and turn into arenas for PvP battles between players.
Players can compete against each other in modes such as duel (one vs. one), free-for-all, and team battle (three vs. three). The video also showed a fight involving users’ summoning spirits.
The Colosseum update will be released tomorrow, December 7th. Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier thinksthat this announcement could precede the presentation of a paid expansion to the game on December 9th at The Game Awards 2022.
Elden Ring debuted on February 25th on PC (Steam), PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S. As part of The Game Awards 2022, the project claims seven awards, including the most important – “Game of the Year”. .
