The report states that the average iPhone user changes their smartphone every three years. Given that the current average cost of a current iPhone model is $825, introducing a subscription will allow Apple to significantly increase sales. According to the available data, users can take ownership of the iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max or their next-gen counterparts as part of the subscription. When Apple offers these models on a subscription basis for $35, $45, and $50, respectively, users pay between $1,260 and $1,800 over three years. In comparison, the iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, and iPhone 13 Pro Max start at $799, $999, and $1,099, respectively.

There have previously been reports that an iPhone subscription could be linked to an Apple ID account, allowing users to combine it with Apple One payments or an AppleCare extended warranty. It is also reported that in addition to the iPhone, users can use the iPad tablet computer as part of the subscription. According to available data, the new service, which does not involve the possibility of buying a device for permanent use, is scheduled to start in late 2022 or early 2023. At the moment, Apple officials have not confirmed that the company plans to launch an iPhone subscription.
