The impossible is possible: Electronic Arts has surprisingly confirmed the release of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor for PS4 and Xbox One

Jedi Action Electronic Arts and Respawn Entertainment’s Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has been positioned as exclusive to the current generation of consoles since its announcement, but that won’t always be the case.

Inside the fresh financial report Andrew Wilson, CEO of Electronic Arts missthat Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will be ported to older consoles. The development is still at an early stage.

“Due to the strength of this iconic franchise and fan demand, our development team set out to bring this Jedi experience to PS4 and Xbox One.”said Wilson.

In the past, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor developers have said that ray tracing and the ability to enable real-time lighting at a quality previously unattainable were the main reasons for the PS4 and Xbox One abandonment.

PS5, Xbox Series X and S permitted team “Create much larger, more detailed and richer maps with a greater variety of enemies.”. It is unclear what compromises the authors will make in favor of PS4 and Xbox One.

According to Wilson, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has become one of the most important Star Wars events this year, attracting millions of players. The company has not yet given specific sales figures.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor was released on April 28th on PC (Steam, EGS), PS5, Xbox Series X and S. At launch, the technical component left a lot to be desired – patch 6.5 for the game was released July 18thand a major update is in the works.
