Famanche users from the forum Reddit noted that Piranha Games President Russ Bullock on a recent podcast No guts, no galaxy spoke about a new game in the MechWarrior series of action-packed combat robots.
Recall that under the current license, Piranha Games has developed two games of the series – shareware MechWarrior Online (2013) and premium MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries (2019).
As it became known, another MechWarrior game is in production – not a sequel to Online, but something like Mercenaries: a standalone product with single player and cooperative components.
There are few details about the project itself, but according to Bullock, they will officially announce it in the current year (maybe they will last until September) and release it before the end of the current license.
The current contract with the franchisees at Piranha Games ends in 2025, as Bullock informed the portal PC gamerthe release of the upcoming MechWarrior is planned for 2024 for PC and consoles.
“We’re still working on MechWarrior, which surprises me a little that I’ve been working on it for so long. But I’m not complaining. And everyone knows we have DLC 4 for MechWarrior 5 on the way.”Bullock said on a podcast.
MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries is available on PC (Steam, GOG, Epic Games Store), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S. The fourth addon is called Rise of Rasalhague and is already being prepared for release. January 26 of the current year.
