The desktop version of the Chrome browser awaits you change in appearance: In the coming weeks, an update will give it a design based on the Material You proprietary design language implemented by Google. The program gets updated icons “with an emphasis on readability” as well as new color palettes.

The shape of the window also changes noticeably – if the browser is not maximized to full screen, the corners of the window will be rounded. In addition to the browser, a redesign in the style of Material You also awaits an expansion of the store: many of its elements will also receive rounded corners, and some users can already get acquainted with the updated appearance of the site.
Other changes to Google Chrome relate to security issues when surfing the Internet in Safe Browsing Mode. Currently, when a user visits a potentially dangerous website, Google compares their address to a list stored locally and updated every 30-60 minutes. In the near future, the mechanism of this function will change – addresses are checked against the Google list in real time, which means that malicious sites launched a few minutes ago will also be blocked. Google estimates that this increases the effectiveness of protection by 25%.
