Shawn Layden, former head of PlayStation Studios and the US division of Sony Computer Entertainment, is joining IT giant Tencent as a strategic advisor. In the new position he will do it “advice, help and support” Chinese company as it intends to further expand its gaming business.
Information about the new employer Sean Leiden released on his LinkedIn page, noting that he should support the Tencent team in this way “expand its activities and commitments in the industry”.
“There are many possible paths, but few are profound, expansive, inclusive, educational, inspiring and/or sustainable. I am very excited to continue this journey of discovery and thank Tencent for the opportunity.”Sean Leyden added.
Recall that Sean Layden stepped down as Head of SIE Worldwide Studios in Fall 2019. He led the development team at SIE Worldwide Studios and has been with the company for over 32 years. The developer also attended the Sony conferences at E3 from 2014 to 2018.
