In the first version of the release, the details of the objects have been increased, the lighting model has been updated, and support for high-resolution displays has been improved. The Windows client now also supports the user location feature.

The standard project library contains more than 600,000 stars, including more than 120,000 from the archive of the European space telescope Hipparcos. If additional catalogs are connected, virtual observation of 210 million stars is available. All the planets of the solar system and their large moons are present. Each available object can be zoomed in for detailed examination. It is possible to display an artistic image of the constellations in different styles.

The virtual planetarium Stellarium is available as programs for Windows, macOS and Linux in the most important formats as well as in web version. There are also mobile apps for Android and iOS.
