According to the portal 9to5Google, its experts “disassembled” the Google Camera application of the new smartphone, codenamed Bluejay, as a result of which additional information was found in the APK. According to the portal, the Google Pixel 6a will receive the same chipset as the Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro – the flagship Tensor single-chip system developed by Google itself.

Although the portal 9to5Google Is a fairly reputable online publication, the news so far remains at the level of rumors. In particular, it raises some doubts that Google for the first time will use the same mobile platform in the A-series as in the “older” smartphones of the new generation.

At the same time, other well-known specifications of the Pixel 6a are noticeably weaker than in the Pixel 6. Thus, the new product will not receive a 50-megapixel camera module. The main one will be the 12.2-megapixel Sony IMX363, the 12-megapixel Sony IMX386 will be used in the ultra-wide-angle module, and the 8 megapixel Sony IMX355 will take selfies.

Basically, the camera system of the smartphone is similar to that used in the Pixel 5, and the selfie module is identical to that used in the “base” version of the Pixel 6.
