The first motherboards based on AMD B650 appeared in American stores – the cheapest one costs $ 200

So far, only mainboards based on the flagship chipsets X670 and X670E are available for AMD Ryzen 7000 processors, which are by no means cheap. In the near future cheaper boards based on AMD B650 and B650E will go on sale. But even among them, it can be difficult to find cheap models – American retailer B&H Photo Video has published prices for several boards featuring the B650, and they start at $200.

The store has included in its assortment seven models of MSI motherboards based on the AMD B650 chipset. MSI MPG B650 Carbon WIFI Motherboard has the highest price among the new products shown – $329.99. You can find solutions based on the older AMD X670 for the same price, but with simpler equipment.

Again, the cheapest among the positions published by the dealer was the MSI PRO B650M-A WIFI priced at $199.99. Of course, this is by no means a full range of new motherboards, even from MSI itself – of course there will also be a version of the MSI PRO B650M-A without a WiFi module, and it will be cheaper. But it’s hardly worth counting on a significant difference. On average, the price is around $250. Models are offered in the form factors Mini-ITX, Micro-ATX and ATX from the MSI PRO, MAG and MPG series. Note that the flagship MSI MEG series will exclusively feature motherboards based on AMD X670 and X670E.

In the end, let’s recall that AMD itself, when announcing the Ryzen 7000 processors and the Socket AM5 platform in August, announced that the cost of motherboards for new chips will start from $ 125. Let’s add that announcements of motherboards based on AMD B650 and B650E are expected on October 4th.
