The European computer market is growing despite the shortage of components

Canalys has released fresh statistics on the computer market in Western Europe. This includes traditional desktops, laptops, and workstations.

In the third quarter of this year, the total shipments of these types of devices amounted to approximately 16.3 million units. This is 21% more than a year ago, when shipments were 13.5 million units.

Analysts say demand remains strong amid the ongoing pandemic. Moreover, sales are growing, despite the shortage of electronic components. By the way, difficulties with the supply of equipment, according to Canalys, can be observed throughout 2022.

HP Inc. became the largest player in the computer market in Western Europe in the third quarter. with a share of about 27%. Lenovo is in second place with 25%, and Dell closes the top three with 14%. This is followed by Apple and Acer, which control respectively 12% and 8% of the industry.

Canalys also notes that quarterly tablet sales in Western Europe plummeted 20% to 6.9 million units. Apple is the undisputed leader in this segment with 45% of the market.
